This position serves as an Onsite Wastewater Program Coordinator for the Bureau of Regional and Laboratory Services. You will be providing customer service focused programmatic assistance to the Onsite Wastewater program in support of SCDES’ roles and responsibilities for overseeing the protection and preservation of South Carolina’s environment and natural resources.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the regional Onsite Wastewater (OSWW) coordinator and customer service representative. Provide front-line customer support and technical assistance to customers of the OSWW program. Communicate directly with customer(s) to provide updates on application status. Maintain working knowledge of the application processing time-frame status for assigned areas.
- Assists internal and external customers with ePermitting data entry. Travel to satellite locations to assist customers with completing submissions in ePermitting. Perform data entry for Approvals to Operate, including the final inspection request and inspection information.
- Assists in OSWW complaint response. Enter complaint information in ePermitting. Prepare pre-investigation details, such as locating addresses, gathering pertinent information, sending notification letters, and communicating with the appropriate parties.
- Communicates OSWW program policies and procedures to the general public, developers, and non-program staff.
- Communicates to leadership on opportunities for process improvement(s) and inconsistencies as it relates to regulation development, training, inspection goals, etc. between assigned program areas and all the regions. Participate in agency committees and task forces that make decisions on policies, procedures, and regulations having statewide impacts. Responsible for the completion of special projects as assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED and relevant program experience.
