This position is located at 2100 Charlie Hall Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29414.
Peer Support Specialist will meet with patients who are in the NAVIGATE & New Directions First Episode Psychosis Programs. These patients are ages 15-40 who are newly diagnosed with a Psychosis related Diagnosis. The PSS for this team will work collaboratively with the NAVIGATE team with attending weekly team meetings in an effort to assist with engaging the patient in services and meeting their therapy goals. They will meet with the patients in the clinic, in the community and in their homes when providing the PSS services. The PSS for this team will follow the NAVIGATE treatment model when working with patients.
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant human services or social services experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required experience.
Agency (DMH) Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or GED equivalent and be a current or former consumer of mental health services, plus have one year participation in local or national consumer movement or demonstrable recovery expertise.
***Candidates must be in recovery. They must be Certified Peer Support Specialist in the state of South Carolina. Certification is obtained through SC Share. ***
