Responsibilities of the System Coordinator:
The System Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of the System Improvement Director. They will be guided by the agency's policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws, particularly regarding confidentiality and the handling of critical incident notifications (CINs). While the System Coordinator will have access to supervision and guidance, they are expected to work independently in managing complex cases, advocating for youth, and participating in meetings with other agencies, including the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Department of Health and Environmental Control, Department of Public Health, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Mental Health, Department of Social Services, John de la Howe, School of the Deaf and Blind, and Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School, to discuss the needs of youth. This position requires high level of sensitivity, confidentiality, and in-depth analysis.
The System Coordinator will be designated as the Point of Contact for Interagency Staffing's; be responsible for receiving Interagency Staffing Notifications; and communicating with the SID regarding whether to refer the IAS to an Investigator or assume lead to attend the IAS. They must strictly adhere to state and federal laws regarding confidentiality. The Coordinator must have extensive knowledge and experience working with youth who have complex needs and must be trauma informed. The Coordinator will frequently communicate with youth and government office and agency staff and must possess the knowledge, skills and ability to conduct case reviews, participate in staffing's, identify relevant issues, manage time and tasks, document pertinent information in the Agency's database, maintain records, and effectively communicate in a professional and courteous manner. The Coordinator will be responsible for avoiding a conflict of interest and exhibiting excellent customer service.
- Work with the System Improvement Director to develop a tool/process for determining when CINs or IU complaints should be elevated to the System Coordinator and then implementing that process (including notifying internal staff and external staff of the person’s role and creating a dedicated IAS email). The System Coordinator will strengthen the quality and consistency of services provided to children with complex needs.
- Review, track, monitor, investigate, problem-solve, and advocate for multi-agency coordination and cooperation among state agencies to ensure children receive adequate services submitted to DCA from Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, Department of Public Health, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Mental Health, Department of Social Services, John de la Howe, School of the Deaf and Blind, and Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School.
- Effectively communicate and interact with state agencies, children served, DCA staff, and external staff to fulfill the mission of DCA and to represent DCA in a professional manner.
- Strictly adhere to agency policy and state and federal law regarding confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as required or directed.
- Bachelor's Degree and professional experience with child welfare and/or investigations.
- Position may require overnight travel.

- Professional/Post Graduate Degree. Demonstrated knowledge of law and policy regarding child-serving agencies' procedures and experience with conducting investigations.

Salary : $46,655 - $86,321
