Prepares preliminary geotechnical reports. Prepares soil borings and lab-testing requests for soil analysis. Performs advanced design and analysis of bridge foundations. Performs advanced design and analysis of conventional embankments and slopes. Performs advanced design and analysis of conventional retaining structures. Develops Design Response Curves (basic preliminary). Performs basic preliminary liquefaction analysis. Performs advanced evaluation of geotechnical construction submittals. Calculates geotechnical bid items for bridge and road projects. Performs various other duties as may be assigned.A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and two (2) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards.
