Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Coordinator the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) TEAM LEAD will supervise and instruct the WIC team members to ensure services and documentation remain in compliance and are followed by established agency guidelines for medical records, SC-WIC, to provide customer service and cultural competency. 

Management:

-Supervise and instruct WIC team members with the daily operations within the clinic setting.


-Manage all direct reports weekly timesheets and any leave requests within the State's South Carolina Enterprise Information System   (SCEIS).

-Review and provide feedback, through the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) and SCEIS to appraise the performance of direct reports annually.


Clinical Lead and Support:


-Answer telephones and schedules appointments as needed.

-Meet, interview, and direct public health clients in accordance with program policies; process information, complete medical records,   enter all client information into applicable electronic applications; ensure that staff comply with program, and agency guidelines. 


-Complete data collection and entry into SC-WIC to validate FI's and Farmer's Market Checks.


-Position will require standing periodically and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

 

Training and Reporting:


-Attend relevant program and agency training and meetings; ensure necessary materials and resources are available for the   administrative staff.


-Prepare and submit required reports for review. 


Emergency Preparedness:

In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DPH employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.      

State Minimum Requirements: 


A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.


Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements:  


Management and agency experience and proven ability may be substituted for supervisory experience; must be able to work in a multi-task environment with constant interruptions; must be able to work in stressful situations and maintain effective working relationships.

One (1) year of managerial experience.

Driving Record:  If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
