Job Summary
The Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) plays a pivotal role in ensuring comprehensive and high-quality services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This position is critical for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, leading interdisciplinary teams (IDT) to foster collaboration, seamlessly integrating multidisciplinary services, and rigorously monitoring documentation to guarantee the delivery of effective and person-centered active treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment. Successful applicant(s) will undergo an abuse and neglect screening. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.

Job Summary

This position is critical for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, leading interdisciplinary teams (IDT) to foster collaboration, seamlessly integrating multidisciplinary services, and rigorously monitoring documentation to guarantee the delivery of effective and person-centered active treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead interdisciplinary teams to develop, approve, and revise Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
- Advocate for individuals, ensuring active treatment aligns with facility missions and regulations.
- Identify and address barriers to achieving positive outcomes for individuals.
- Monitor and implement ISPs to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Provide in-service training and complete required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Title XIX regulations, state policies, and facility standards.
- Maintain communication with families, guardians, and legal officers regarding individual progress or changes.
- Support individuals in exercising their rights, advocating for themselves, and making informed decisions.
- Promote meaningful relationships for individuals within their communities.
- Bachelor's Degree in the Human Services Field.
- Minimum of one year experience working directly with clients, with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities
- A strong advocate for providing clients with meaningful learning opportunities through education, hands-on experience, and exposure to diverse activities.
- Demonstrates supportive, positive, and respectful communication skills, including clear guidance, instruction, and feedback.
- Proficient in Person-Centered Thinking (PCT) with a focus on individual needs and goals.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accountability for meeting timelines.
- Skilled in facilitating positive and productive group interactions and training sessions.
- Experienced in developing and delivering both individualized and group training programs.
- Knowledgeable about services governed by policies, rules, and regulations.
- Possesses leadership skills that foster effective teamwork and collaboration.
- Encourages self-motivation and personal growth among team members and clients.
- In-depth understanding of developmental disabilities and their ramifications.
- Familiarity with treatment standards set by accrediting bodies.
- Awareness of current trends in the care and training of the developmentally disabled population.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulations governing the care and habilitation of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary services effectively.
- Clear and concise communication skills for conveying information to staff and other stakeholders.
- Strong skills in data collection and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of supports and plans.
- Proficiency in applying contemporary trends and practices in the care and education of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Expertise in organizing and maintaining detailed documentation.
