The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is a state agency established to promote workforce development and improve workplace safety and health throughout the state.

Job Overview :

Represent the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD), providing expert advice and guidance to public and private sector employers, organizations, and agencies based on TDWLD's business engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Will access and utilize the case management system CRM (Zendesk), coordinating efforts with other WFS staff or partners connecting with employers (Apprenticeships, Reentry, Vets) as well as TDLWD staff (AE state / contract staff, Apprenticeship Director, Apprenticeship Regional Directors, etc.). The CRM will be used to help track and manage the consulting activities of employers at the state, regional, and local levels.

2. Coordinate efforts among workforce system partners to include the following stakeholders : Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER), Reentry Directors, Adult Education Apprenticeship and Business Services Director, AE Regional Directors, and LWDB Business Services Staff.

3. Support state, regional, and local vision to help increase business service activities and employer penetration rates.

4. Perform site visits with employers (and invite other partners as needed) based on generated sector strategy leads, referrals from partners, or as requested, assessing the employers' needs (training, soft skills, connection with job seekers, etc.)

5. Attend workforce meetings such as Chambers of Commerce, Economic Workforce Development, TDLWD Business Service Team meetings, and workforce system partner business engagement activities (sector strategy meetings, business roundtables, etc.) to support employer needs which lead to fostering and reinforcing economic growth in the respective communities across each local area.

6. Coordinate the connection of employers with LWDB Business Services Staff to help direct the processes of engaging the One-Stop Operators, AJC Regional Directors, and AJC Business Service staff / teams, to help ensure the 'back end' service delivery to address each employers' needs.

7. Advise workforce agencies, business service teams, and other partners on State and Local Workforce Development Board and Regional Planning Councils regarding relative workforce policies and initiatives

8. Support economic development projects within the local workforce development area by being a resource coordinator and connecting employers to valuable resources. Business Engagement Directors will present data analytics regarding the current workforce pipeline, trends, etc. to companies that are existing / expanding, as well as potential and incoming companies that may be new to the local workforce development area.

9. Engage in Business Roundtables, as well as local, regional, state, and national conferences associated with employer and workforce system activities to help foster collaboration among workforce system partners and drive consistency of the TDLWD Business Engagement strategy

10. Assist with identifying areas for improvement, development of solutions, and implementation strategies to enhance TDLWD's performance and effectiveness in serving employers and the general public 11. All business development directors will assist employers with talent recruitment strategies that support each stage of the Business Lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications :

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
