Job Description:
The Billing Specialist is key to maintaining the financial health of our agency. As a Billing Specialist, you will perform billing-related tasks related to insurance claims and client copays.
This includes talking to clients and insurance companies on the phone and via email; reviewing and monitoring aging claims and copays and taking action to resolve; reconciling accounts through various portals; working in spreadsheets to track payment status and insurance/client communications; and maintaining confidentiality while working professionally with staff and vendors. Medical terminology knowledge and an understanding of ICD-101 and CPT coding are helpful. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in healthcare, or 2 years experience working with billing health insurances in a related field
- Excellent understanding of Medicaid, Medicaid HMOs, and all commercial and private pay structures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-101 and CPT coding
- Self-reliant, responsible, and flexible and able to quickly understand new ideas and job assignments
- Professional and positive in the workplace
- Highly focused and results-oriented in supporting complex, deadline-driven operations; able to identify goals and priorities and resolve issues in initial stages
- Core competencies: EMR systems, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Quick Books, Dropbox and other useful software systems

Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
