Responsibilities
- Collaborate with park leadership to manage operations, programs, and services across Huntington, Millsite, and Scofield State Parks.
- Oversee day-to-day park operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all visitors.
- Lead and mentor staff by managing hiring, workload distribution, training, performance monitoring, and taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Support financial operations through assistance with accounting, deposits, and budgeting tasks.
- Engage with local governmental agencies, private organizations, and community partners to foster strong collaborative relationships.
- Welcome and assist visitors by providing exceptional customer service and park information.
- Ensure park facilities and grounds are well-maintained through routine upkeep, repairs, and inventory management.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated expertise in maintenance and equipment operation within a park or outdoor setting.
- Solid background in park operations and program management with hands-on experience in facility maintenance and groundskeeping.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by proven experience in supervising and mentoring teams.
- Proficiency in managing basic accounting tasks and financial record-keeping.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Experience in park management with a focus on accounting, budgeting, and business operations.
- Background in park construction, development, or facility upgrades.
- In-depth understanding of park operations and maintenance strategies.
- Possession of a CDL Driver's License is a plus.
Supplemental Information
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, flexible shifts (including night shifts in winter), and respond to after-hours call-outs is essential.
- Required division training (e.g., defensive driving, security awareness, unlawful harassment, ethics) will be provided.
- A valid driver’s license is required; a CDL is preferred. A criminal background check is mandatory.
- While housing is not generally provided, semi-seasonal housing is available during the peak summer months at Scofield.
