Location: Bear Lake State Park, near Garden City, UT Work Schedule: Full-time - 40 hours per week, which may include weekends, nights, holidays, and emergencies as needed

As the Building and Grounds Supervisor, you will:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on park facilities, buildings, and grounds, ensuring high standards of upkeep.
- Supervise staff, including hiring, task delegation, training, performance evaluations, and corrective actions.
- Inspect and review work to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Provide training on industry standards, safety practices, and tool/equipment operation and maintenance.
- Schedule and conduct safety inspections and risk investigations.
- Maintain detailed records, prepare reports, and complete administrative tasks related to park operations.
- Serve as a core member of the park’s management team.
- Ensure facility security and safety by preventing theft, vandalism, risk management issues and fire hazards.
- Establish and manage cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Purchase, receive, and store equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Assist with budgeting and accounting for maintenance activities.
- Coordinate, manage, and perform minor construction projects.
- Gain familiarity with daily park operations and overall management strategies.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of facilities and grounds maintenance, operations, and construction principles.
- Ability to supervise others effectively, including communication, task assignment, and performance evaluation.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or maintenance systems.
- Experience using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, chainsaws).
- Understanding of plumbing techniques, electrical principles, and cement or carpentry practices.
- Heavy equipment operation experience (e.g., backhoes, forklifts, snowcats).
- Independent project management skills, including planning and cost estimation.
- Mechanical knowledge of small engines, hydraulics, boats, ATVs, and similar equipment.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining or repairing water and electrical systems.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience operating snow grooming equipment, snowcats, or trail grooming equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of maintenance practices for heavy equipment and tools.
- This position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Physical requirements include lifting moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), standing, bending, stooping, and walking over rough terrain for extended periods.
- Work includes exposure to risks requiring safety precautions, such as operating machinery and working at heights or in enclosed spaces.
- Responsibilities include working in or on the water, in boats, and on docks.
- Must obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.
- Must obtain a Small Water System Operator certification within 9 months of hire.
