What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Program Specialist position at State of Utah?
The Unemployment Insurance (UI) division at the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill a Compliance Program Specialist position in Salt Lake City. This position may allow for a periodic telework schedule.
Principal Duties
The Compliance Program Specialist is responsible for the following duties:
Performing routine Compliance duties.
Identifying problems or potential problem areas and recommends solutions.
Acting as a facilitator in problem solving situations; providing information to those seeking assistance and suggesting alternatives/solutions and assisting others in solving problems.
Acting as a resource for management and staff; provides technical support within area of responsibility.
Writing or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.
Analyzing, summarizing and/or reviewing data; reporting findings, interpreting results and/or makes recommendations.
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
Delivering presentations, stand up training or instruction to staff, management, clients or the general public.
Conducting training needs assessments and recommending training programs.
Designing and/or preparing training/instructional materials, teaching aids and devices.
Monitoring and evaluating operations, programs, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; making recommendations for improvement.
Receiving, researching and responding to incoming questions or complaints; providing information, explaining policy and procedures and/or facilitating resolutions.
Acting as a resource to provide information or determine the most effective way of meeting the needs of management, staff, clients or customers.
Negotiating or mediating issues with internal and/or external agency representatives, and/or concerned outside parties or their representatives.
Settling or resolving issues or complaints.
Minimum Qualifications:
The model applicant for this position is someone who has experience with the following:
Excellent communication skills
Experience training others
Comfortable giving presentations
Experience using Microsoft and Google applications to facilitate work (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc.)
Familiarity with Unemployment Insurance law and rules
