Criminal Information Technician I
Records SectionThe main purpose of this position is to input data of arrest information into the Utah Criminal History program, research Utah Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS) databases, national criminal history databases, as well as court databases to ensure criminal history information is correct.
Principal Duties
- Data entry of arrest information into various databases
- Research criminal justice databases
- Customer service both written and verbal
- Must pass the Utah Bureau of Identification Proficiency test with in probationary period and maintain certification thereafter.
- Candidates who have been selected for an interview must pass a typing test and a skills assessment as part of the interview process.
- Will have record keeping skills including date entry and retrieval skills.
- Will have previous customer service experience both written and verbal
- Must have the ability to learn and explain state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Must be able to keep information confidential.
- Starting wage is $17.37
- Fingerprints and a background check are required upon hire.
- Employees who successfully pass probation and required training may be series promoted to a Criminal Info Technician II.
- Work schedule is Monday -Friday 8:00 am -5:00 PM.
