Principal Duties
The Journey Maintenance/ Welding Specialist performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance duties requiring independent ability to organize and complete maintenance projects. Duties include troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing issues in the following areas:
- Appliances
- Roofing
- Grounds work
- Painting
- Plumbing
- Snow removal
- Locks
Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation to originators of project job orders, including development of project plans and related estimates.
- Build, fabricate, or repair structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings.
- Have the ability to use a variety of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment.
- Perform emergency preparedness planning.
- Read and interpret maps, plats, charts, plans, blueprints and/or electrical schematics.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance/ construction duties
- Ability to maintain compliance with applicable codes

- Ability to work independently
- Computer knowledge
- Excellent time management skills
- Maintains accurate records
- Must be willing to be on-call with 24-hour availability
