Principle Duties
- Preparing and performing recreational therapy assessments.
- Implementing recreational therapy activities and programs.
- Functionally supervise and approve time for the Activities Technicians to assist with recreational activities.
- Maintaining records to comply with federal requirements
- Writing reports indicative of progress or regression of the individuals
- Coordinate and plan hillwide community inclusive events
- Act as backup for Farm Manager and Greenhouse based on agency needs
- Provide training in group settings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in Utah.
- One year of experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled.
- One or more years of experience in Recreation Therapy.
- Experience writing programs and goals for tfor a select group of individuals with recrational needs.
- Must be flexible with work schedule and willing to work occasional nights and weekends to meet the needs of the agency.

- Adapting program(s) to meet specific needs or concerns.
- Monitoring cases to ensure that treatment plans are being followed.
- Discussing results, findings and/or recommendations with appropriate parties.
- Acting as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings and gives input as to needs of clients.
- Assisting with the Equine assisted learning program.
- Licensure as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in Utah.
- Follows all practices and requirements of the Recreational Therapy Practice Act and the Recreational Therapy Practice Rule.
- Identify developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally.
- Oversee the appropriate use of equipment, facilities.
- Maintain and/or repair tools and equipment.
- Ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
- Ability to observe physical conditions, behavior or surroundings for potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity.
- Ability to hear sounds that may indicate potential areas of concern or inappropriate activity.
- Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack, etc.
- The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.

- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with the exception of Wednesday which is 11:30am to 8:00 pm and will occasionally work on the weekend. (Schedule may vary based on special events)
