What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreational Therapist position at Wasatch Recovery Treatment Center?
Wasatch Recovery Treatment Center is a substance abuse treatment facility, behavioral health setting looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our team as a Recreational Therapist. Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field (required)
Licensing:
Must have CTRS license or TRT, or be willing to obtain a TRT license.
Recreation Therapists are required to transport clients using company vehicles. Therefore, the qualified candidate must consent to provide a Motor Vehicle Record which includes the following:
-valid Driver's License
-have no more than 2 at-fault accidents in the past 3 years
-have no more than 3 moving violations during the past 3 years
-no DWI or DUI infractions
Duties and Responsibilities:
-40 hours a week which includes planning RT groups, completing paperwork, planning/joining activities, etc.
-Provide/attend groups daily, mindfulness/yoga
-Provide progress notes in a timely and professional manner
-Transport clients to and from experiences
-Coordinate activities and events with clients and staff
-Maintain a current employee file (CPR, First Aid, NCI, etc)
-Attend staff training
-Plan and implement recreation therapy leisure skill building, outdoor leisure education, service learning, ropes and challenge courses, transport patients to and from off-campus activities, process experiences and report outcomes in progress notes
-Other duties as assigned
