Overview

The State Of Vermont is looking for a Correctional Facility Superintendent II at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington. The Facility Superintendent ensures the operations of their assigned correctional facility align with Vermont DOC's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan as defined by the Commissioner of Corrections.

The Facility Superintendent, in collaboration with the Facilities Division Director and Management Team:

  • Oversees operations, staff, and programs in an adult correctional facility, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective rehabilitation services
  • Manages personnel and resources, supervises staff training and performance, and maintains case records and confidential information systems
  • Coordinates incarcerated individual programs
  • Ensures adherence to standards (including PREA and ADA)
  • Engages with community partners and service providers.
  • Assumes command of operation and staff during emergencies
  • Manages budgets, contracts, and facility operations
  • Collaborates with courts and law enforcement to support public safety and successful reentry.
