Location: Washington Corrections Center for Women | Gig Harbor, WA
Salary Range: $5,564 - $7,489 Monthly
This position is represented by the Teamsters 117 Bargaining Unit.

We are searching for a dependable individual to join our training team as a Facility Performance Coordinator (Corrections Specialist 2 – Training)! The goal of the Facility Performance Coordinator is to establish training goals and objectives for uniform and non-uniform team members.
As a Facility Performance Coordinator, you will coordinate orientation and in-service training for all staff, schedule training, arrange for trainers, prepare lesson plans and materials, and evaluate training and trainers. You will also prepare a Human Resource Development Plan and prepares/maintains training records and reports as necessary.
The FPC supports the Department of Corrections mission to improve public safety through ensuring WCCW team members receive timely, relevant, and effective training to perform their duties and responsibilities. Duties

As a Corrections Specialist 2 – Training, some of your duties will include:

Manage and oversee the WCCW local training programs and responsibilities including:
- Ensuring compliance with Department training requirements to include mandatory training requirements and institution training priorities
- Ensure compliance with Department training requirements, to include mandatory training requirements and institution training priorities
- Screen and process training requests and registrations
- Develop in service calendar and curriculum for uniform and non-uniform staff
- Track and report on staff training attendance
- Ensure staff participation in mandatory training is reported in a timely manner to ensure annual compliance
- Monitor the Correctional Officer on-the-job training grogram
- Provide recommendations to supervisors for staff training needs
- Oversee and monitor WCCW staff attendance and status at Correctional Worker CORE
- Provide instruction for training courses conducted at WCCW or in support of facility staff
- Supervise Human Resource Consultant Assistant 2 (HRCA2) providing support to the training department programs and projects
- Develop, implement, monitor and update the WCCW Annual Training Plan
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What we need (required qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
AND
- A minimum of six (6) years of paid/professional experience in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field
OR
- High school diploma or equivalent
AND
- Satisfactory completion of one (1) year of college (30 semester or 45 quarter credits)
AND
- A minimum of five (5) years of paid/professional experience in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field
OR
- Satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college (60 semester or 90 quarter credits).
AND
- A minimum of four (4) years of paid/professional experience in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field
What will make your application stand out (preferred qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Two (2) years of paid/professional experience in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field.
- Vocational Instructor Certification.

Telework Details
This position may be allocated for telework. Work may be performed from your home or another offsite location within the state of Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot service at that time. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process. Some offices will have a “drop in” area available, however, a dedicated workspace within a DOC facility will not be provided.
