The Opportunity
What to Expect
- Utilizing HRMS, DOTtime, and ILINX to perform Employment Security Department hour/wage verification.
- Answer Payroll main phone and review/respond to the payroll Outlook email inbox inquiries.
- Assign remedy tickets to appropriate payroll staff using the Payroll Department Request Tracking Console.
- Scan and validate Payroll forms and records using ILINX imaging technology.
- Index documents assigning them to the payroll work queues in preparation for Payroll actions.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports.
- Assist in performing special projects assigned to the payroll team.
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in financial field. (Please note additional education may substitute for experience.)
- Knowledge and ability to perform financial review and analysis of payroll fiscal data in accordance with federal and state regulations pertaining to assigned payroll functions.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Skilled in organizing and prioritizing daily tasks and switching between multiple tasks daily.
- Skilled in basic functions of Microsoft Excel software programs.
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
- 18 quarter / 12 semester credits in accounting.
- Payroll or Human Resources experience.
- Experience with HRMS, WSDOT DOTtime, and WSDOT TRAINS systems.
- Ability to operate within mainframe computer systems and inquire/update payroll data in an automated payroll system.
