Budget and Fiscal Services (BFS) is responsible for the management of all agency financial activities including Accounting, Budgeting, Contractual Agreements, Financial Systems, Grants, and Payroll. The division consists of the Budget Section, the Accounting Section, the Financial Systems and Payroll Section, and the Contracting Section.
This position is responsible performs payroll functions and coordinates benefits for agency employees. This position is a primary contributor who ensures the accurate and timely execution of payroll functions and the assignment of employee benefits.Our new teammate will be able to:
- Perform Human Resource Management System (HRMS) and Personnel/Payroll System (PAY1) end-user activities.
- Provide guidance to agency employees.
- Review and approve payroll documents and forms.
- Analyze payroll results and reports.
- Assist in the review, analysis and interpretation of labor, payroll and leave report data.
- Initiate necessary actions to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Civil Service Rules, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Retirement Systems (DRS), Health Care Authority (HCA), Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), etc.
NOTE: This is not a telework position. Candidates must be able and willing to work in the office and commute to Olympia. A hybrid work schedule may be available after training is complete.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
