Our Administrative Services division (ASD) understands the importance of having reliable, effective and efficient facilities and work sites. We have an Excellent Opportunity to join the state workforce and are seeking to hire a full-time/permanent position for Mail Processing Driver. As our Mail Processing Driver, you will provide essential support in agency-wide mail services by processing both incoming and outgoing mail in addition to maintaining digital high-speed mailing machines. Furthermore, this position is responsible for advancing ESD’s strategic plan by actively identifying and working to dismantle barriers to equity, diversity and inclusion for traditionally marginalized underserved groups while modeling this commitment and positively influencing others to do so as well. Duties
In this role, your attention to detail will be relied upon as you ensure incoming and outgoing mail is properly processed. You will do this by sorting and organizing the mail, utilizing metering equipment, and verifying proper labels are attached in order to meet USPS regulations. Occasionally, you will be performing mail courier duties with up to a one-ton cargo van as well as providing information to mail service customers by telephone and/or in person.
Some of what you will do:
- Operate the mail metering machine, scanning documents and courier pick up’s and deliveries.
- Confirm agency address and location codes.
- Date stamp and bundle mail.
- Move small and large packages and tubs of mail.
- Prepare outgoing mail by organizing and tagging containers.
Qualifications
Required:
A High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND One (1) year of experience sorting and distributing mail, AND A valid unrestricted driver's license.
OR: A combination of education and relevant experience, AND A valid unrestricted driver's license.
Additional Requirement of Employment:
- Must be able to pass Unemployment Insurance (UI) & Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) claim and fraud check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted motor vehicle operator’s license.
