Hybrid: Our physical office is in Olympia, WA. We offer flexible work schedules and locations. This is a hybrid position where most of the work allows teleworking. However, you will need to travel to in-person activities, meetings, and events according to business needs.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Assurance Tester to join our team as a trusted expert in enterprise application testing, quality assurance, configuration, or development. In this exciting and high-impact role, you’ll work independently on critical statewide financial, budget, and legislative systems that support multiple agencies and directly influence the operations of the Executive Branch. Duties

What you will work on

  • Develop test plans to identify the scope of the testing effort, methodology, features and functions to be tested for validating system changes.
  • Translate business and system requirements into test scripts and conditions.
  • Develop or configure solutions to meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Develop and execute positive, negative and regression testing and verify outcomes against expected results, to include functional, technical and end-to-end testing.
  • Identify, isolate, replicate and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Analyze business requirements and design documents for completeness and testability.
  • Identify and communicate risks that may jeopardize testing activities.
  • Provide guidance and consultation of testing activities to internal and external teams.
  • Work with development team to ensure that the business requirements and acceptance criteria have been met.
  • Participate in peer review of other work efforts.
  • Develop, document and maintain test artifacts such as test plans, test scenarios, test data and test scripts.
  • Use Azure DevOps (AZDO) to document, track testing results and track defects related to enhancements or maintenance requests.
  • Develop and maintain testing documentation and artifacts in an identified repository.

Qualifications

What we need you to bring
Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of information technology experience in quality assurance testing of systems/applications to include writing and executing test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts and documenting expected results.
OR
  • Associate's degree OR equivalent to two years of vocational training in computer science or related field of study AND (2) years of information technology experience in quality assurance testing of systems/applications to include writing and executing test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts and documenting expected results.
OR
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study, Information Systems or related technical/business discipline AND one year of information technology experience in quality assurance testing of systems/applications to include writing and executing test plans, test cases, test procedures, test scripts and documenting expected results.
AND
  • Two (2) years experience using a defect tracking tool.
  • Two (2) years knowledge of security and/or performance/stress/load testing.
  • One (1) year experience using test automation tools.
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint. Financial and/or state government knowledge.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to learn complex processes and information quickly.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, customer service, and working under tight deadlines.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with using Microsoft Azure DevOps for creating managing and running tests, using the Coded UI test framework to automate UI tests, and issue tracking.
  • The ability to create test data in a relational database, in a delimited text file, or in XML.
  • An understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Experience testing mobile applications.
