The Data Management Specialist is responsible to analyze, collect, sort, and create electronic data for the integration of applications, software, systems, and associated workflow processes into the information systems serving the needs of the Washington State courts. This position provides journey-level expertise to all data management functions. Reporting to an Information Technology Manager, Information Technology Supervisor, or equivalent, this is a journey-level position that works within a team to oversee the process of moving data between systems for reporting purposes. This position provides data management services using products such as, but not limited to, Informatica Power Center, SQL, and Azure DevOps. This position has limited decision-making responsibility as defined by managerial level staff. Able to complete routine tasks independently using established data management principles. Work products are subject to review and approval by senior data management specialists, supervisors, or managers. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Serves as technical resource on strategic data loading, synchronization, and data quality processing projects to meet organizational business objectives. Designs, constructs, tests, optimizes, and deploys Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes to support internal enterprise applications.Conducts all Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases related to the definition, design, development, and implementation of new subject areas for enterprise application databases.Creates ETL workflows from data sources to data stores.Develops ETL processes using various tools in a complex data environmentDevelops optimized SQL Server stored procedures, functions, and database views for use in applications, jobs, and ETL workflows.Creates and maintains data flow diagrams for existing and future ETL processes.Creates and maintains detailed source-to-target ETL mapping specifications.Participates in defining database requirements, analyzing existing models and reports looking for opportunities to improve their efficiency, and resolving technical problems.Translates business requirements into application designs and solutions.Conducts ETL audits and implements controls to ensure quality of data meets or exceeds defined standards and thresholds.Responds to customer service requests and provides journey-level troubleshooting, problem resolution and consulting. Conduct code reviews with the development team as needed.Perform system, regression, and user acceptance testing using both manual and automated test processes with all assignments and work products being delivered.Performs other duties as assigned.
