Join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse Lead at our newest behavioral health treatment campus, Maple Lane in Grand Mound, near Centralia, WA.
Behavioral Health Treatment Center Maple Lane offers innovative treatment for residents who are civilly committed, in need of competency restoration, or adjudicated not guilty by reason of mental diagnosis. Each residential unit helps shape the future of behavioral health, aligning with Washington State’s vision of community-based care. Treating residents in smaller facilities helps them stay closer to home, family, and support systems, fostering stronger community connections.
As a lead LPN, your focus will be on supporting and providing guidance and direction to staff. You will participate in providing excellent nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will interact with Maple Lane patients as you help them improve and work toward recovery. Daily, you will collaborate with a variety of medical professionals and staff that are dedicated to make a positive impact. Maple Lane is a key business unit of DSHS's Behavioral Health Administration, where our dedicated staff offers residents enriching opportunities and experiences outside the hospital setting, preparing them for a smooth transition back into the community. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate.
We are hiring for multiple positions, two-day shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) and two evening shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.).Some of what you will do
- Provide routine, direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse to people who have behavioral health diagnosis.
- Assist RN in prioritizing and sequencing care to be provided to ensure continuity of care over time and place.
- Assign non-clinical daily tasks to the nursing staff and provide guidance to milieu staff while performing direct nursing care according to a treatment plan.
- Provide staff feedback to RNs regarding development, educational needs, and job performance.
- Report and document significant changes in patient conditions to RN designee and appropriate medical staff.
- As delegated by the RN, responsible for overseeing the medication administration area and patient care in that area.
- Educate patients in adaptive living skills during activities and in the treatment mall during one-to-one or group interactions.
- Transfer, escort, and transport patients.
- Complete paperwork and documents for medication orders, treatment records
- Monitor inventory and maintain medical supplies and equipment.
Who should apply
- Professionals with a valid Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or can obtain a valid Washington State license by the start of employment.
- One year LPN experience is preferred but not required. Experience in behavioral health fields also preferred although not required.
