Please note that, as this opportunity is available in King County, employees assigned to a permanent duty station in King County will receive a 5% premium pay calculated from their base salary.

An a Recreation & Athletic Specialist 3, you will have an opportunity to provide innovative care through recreation and training to residents with developmental and intellectual disabilities. - Coordinate and oversee implementation of recreational/leisure and day programs utilizing both on and off-campus (community) resources
- Develop individualized plans of care that meet the needs, interests, preferences, and abilities of each person
- Coordinate closely with AC Managers and respective IDT’s when developing opportunities, establishing schedules, and implementing various activities that may involve driving on both preplanned and spontaneous trips
- Develop treatment plans that are goal-oriented and directed towards rehabilitation and modification of specific physical, emotional, mental, and/or social behavior
- Create and implement a recreation activity schedule that includes individualized therapeutic recreation programming, diversion activities, and community integration programs
- Participating in special events on campus such as concerts, parades, or barbeques
- Experience in planning, organizing, and leading recreation programs
- Ability to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those you support
- Ability to develop positive, productive, and respectful working relationships with team members and clients
- Ability to effectively instruct other staff members
- Experience utilizing electronic health records
- An understanding of the importance of person-centered care
Who should apply?
A Bachelor's degree involving major study in one of the following:
- Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Music, Drama, Physical Education, or a related field
- One (1) year of experience as a Recreation & Athletics Specialist 2
