We have an on-site opportunity for you to join our team in Vancouver, WA  The job, under general supervision, conducts purchasing projects for specialized commodity areas. Activities include analysis of bids for multi-commodity purchase contracts and/or procurement of products, development of specifications and analysis of bids for products and services.  Resolves vendor performance problems.
 
Some of what you’ll do:
 

• Manage procurement and inventory for a large-scale commissary warehouse using systems such as POSSUM, ePMX, and TRACKS.

• Oversee inventory control, usage analysis, stock levels, and accurate documentation to support operational needs.

• Train and support staff on warehouse systems, act as the POSSUM Administrator, and serve as a lead worker to one team member.

• Maintain warehouse organization and compliance with safety standards; operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and state vehicles.

• Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks safely and efficiently throughout the workday
  
  Purchasing Responsibilities

• Conduct product and vendor research to ensure cost-effective, best-value procurement of goods and services.

• Create and manage purchase requests, quotes, and receiving documentation using TRACKS and ePMX.

• Coordinate with vendors for quotes, deliveries, replacements, and returns; resolve performance issues as needed.

• Maintain and update purchasing documentation, vendor files, and participate in committee work when assigned.

• Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring smooth communication and service delivery.

 

What we’re looking for:
Professionals with:

A Bachelor’s degree involving major study in business administration, public administration, procurement, logistics, supply management or a closely allied field:

OR

An Associate of  Arts degree in purchasing management, business administration or closely allied field AND two years purchasing experience;

OR

Two years of experience as a Procurement & Supply Specialist 1 in a warehouse

Full-time experience as a purchasing professional will substitute on a year-for-year basis
