CRD is comprised of four sections: Collision Records, ACCESS, Identification and Background Check Section, and Criminal History Records Section. It provides services for both criminal justice and non-criminal justice purposes and is also responsible for maintaining the statewide repository for fingerprint-based criminal history record information. The objectives of the division are to provide accurate and complete information, manage more information and/or process it faster, maintain the integrity of and enhance systems used to collect and disseminate information, and improve interagency criminal justice information sharing with local, state, tribal, and federal entities. About the Position: This position supports the Agency goal to build a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous performance improvement. It supports our key values of earning the trust and confidence of the public through professional excellence, acting with integrity and accountability, respecting and protecting individual rights, and building a culture of continuous improvement. The Fingerprint Supervisor contributes to these activities by providing leadership and management of the Fingerprint Unit.This position is responsible for scheduling, supervising and evaluating the key work activities and essential functions of the Fingerprint Leads, Technicians, and Office Assistants within the Fingerprint Unit. The Fingerprint Supervisor will assist the Identification and Background Check Section Manager in implementing new policies, procedures, and preparing staffing requests. They are responsible for the oversight of administrative operations within the Section and ensures consistency with agency policy, and local standard operating procedures. The incumbent gains the trust of internal and external customers through effective communication and providing quality service.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Our new teammate will be able to: Ensure technicians work within standards and are properly trained to perform all activities within the unit. Create work schedules for staff.Assist the Identification and Background Check Section Manager in implementing new policies and procedures, and prepare staffing requests.Create the shift bid schedules to accommodate business hours and high-volume processing hours. Interview and select applicants for Fingerprint Technician and Office Assistant positions within the Fingerprint Unit. Create, maintain, and review aptitude tests provided for applicants seeking employment in the Fingerprint Unit.Ensure accuracy and productivity standards are maintained.Provide corrective actions for employees not meeting required expectations or standards.Serve as daily operation administrator for the ABIS system, and other interfacing systems.Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot ABIS system issues. Perform Expungements and Destroys requested from various units in the Criminal Records Division. Utilize the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) fingerprint identification of electronically and manually submitted fingerprint transactions.Maintain demographic accuracy and consistency between ABIS and WASIS.Assist in manually comparing fingerprints and writing reports for medical examiners and coroners for identification of unknown deceased.Assist in verifying, disseminating, and writing reports for Prosecuting Attorneys.Perform quality control of submitted fingerprint and palm prints.
