The Department of Ecology is hiring an IT Data Management - Journey position within the Administrative Services Division.
Location Options:
This position can be based at any of the following duty stations:
- Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA.
- Central Region Office in Union Gap, WA.
- Eastern Region Office in Spokane, WA.
- Northwest Region Office in Shoreline, WA.
- Bellingham Field Office in Bellingham, WA.
- Richland Field Office in Richland, WA.
- Vancouver Field Office in Vancouver, WA.
Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the selected duty station.
Note: If the selected duty station is the Northwest Region Office in Shoreline, the salary will include an additional 5% premium pay due to its location in King County. Salary range: $7,504 - $10,092 monthly.
Schedule:
- This position is eligible for telework and flexible schedule options.
- You may telework most of your work time, with the expectation of working in the office at least one day per week. During onboarding and training, more in-office time will be required.
- Schedules are dependent upon position needs and are subject to change.

- Lead Process Automation: You'll play a key role in designing and building automated workflows using Laserfiche, streamlining business processes and data lifecycle, and improving operational efficiency across the agency.

What you will do:
- Design, build, and automate business processes using Laserfiche to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Collaborate with business owners and technical teams to gather requirements and develop scalable workflow solutions.
- Optimize and manage SQL queries to enable dynamic decision-making and real-time data processing.
- Integrate Laserfiche with enterprise systems using APIs to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.
- Maintain and enforce data governance standards to ensure compliance with records management and security policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
- Develop training materials and provide user support to ensure effective adoption of automated workflows.
- Monitor and enhance system performance through proactive maintenance, reporting, and capacity planning.

Required Qualifications:
Five (5) years of experience and/or education as described below:
- Experience within the last seven years in SQL programming, entity relationship modeling and notation, or database report development. Experience includes but not limited to independently analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining databases, and experience with data extraction and transformation (e.g. ETL).
- Education involving a major study in computer science, information technology (IT), science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), or closely related field; OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in computer programming and database design, database administration, data administration, or data analysis.
Examples of how to qualify:
- 5 years of experience.
- 4 years of experience AND 30-59 semester or 45-89 quarter college credits.
- 3 years of experience AND 60-89 semester or 90-134 quarter college credits (Associate’s degree).
- 3 years of experience AND accredited vocational training program certificate.
- 2 years of experience AND 90-119 semester or 135-179 quarter college credits.
- 1 year of experience AND a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, automation engineering, information systems, computer science, data analysis, or closely related field AND two (2) years of recent experience working with process automation/content management software, relational database management systems, and/or programming.
- Building process automation with Laserfiche Cloud.
- System administration in a Laserfiche Cloud environment.
- Administering/troubleshooting in a cloud/SaaS environment.
- Experience with records management in the State of Washington.
- Experience with software integrations using API.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Laserfiche Gold or Platinum Certification.
