We are currently recruiting for a data driven Quality Assurance Tester for our Business and Enterprise Technology Solution team (BETS)!

As an entry-level Quality Assurance Tester, your technical skills will be vital for our software testing efforts, ensuring our systems run smoothly and meet all necessary standards. You'll play a key role in supporting platforms that facilitate data sharing among a wide range of partners, citizens, businesses, and government agencies. In this role, your knack for detail and dedication to data accuracy will be essential for public safety and will influence important decisions made by our agency, law enforcement, the courts, employers, and insurance companies.


Some of what you will do:
  • Review and give feedback on test plans, create test scenarios and cases, and test DOL systems and software to ensure they work correctly.

  • Assist with the implementation of tech solutions that provide quality service to customers, agency staff, state agencies, and businesses.

  • Identify and fix problems in high-risk systems that are crucial for the organization.

  • Work independently and with teams on small projects to implement software and hardware changes due to new laws, agency directives, system improvements, and error resolution.


What you will bring:
  •  Three (3) years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, analyzing, designing, or developing computer systems applications or databases.
    • Experience must include:
      • Consulting
      • Programming
      • Software application maintenance
      • Support for software development projects
Experience can be obtained concurrently.

Up to two (2) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience.
 
What may set you apart:
  • Software and Application Testing Certificate of training completion.
    • Testing Certification can include:
      • Quality Assurance Institute (QAI).
      • American Society for Quality (ASQ).
      • International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).
      • International Institute for Software Testing (IIST). 
      • Familiarity with Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) and other software test tools.
  • Business knowledge of:
    • Business and professional Licensing
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) and other software test tools.
  • Proven experience implementing, designing, or testing an Enterprise COTS solution.
  • Agile, Dev Ops.
  • Experience with common public and private cloud service providers such as:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Saleforce, Mulesoft, and Clariti
  • Certification as a Lean consultant. (Yellow or Green Belt).

Additional Conditions of employment:
  • This position is based in Olympia, Washington, and may require in-office attendance to fulfill business needs.
