The Opportunity: The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) is seeking to fill a Program Specialist 2 position. This position will provide program support for the Basic Law Enforcement Academy and Basic Corrections Officer Academy classes at our various Regional Academies located in Arlington, Pasco, Spokane and Vancouver. The selected candidate may be based at any of our Regional Academies located in Arlington, Burien, Pasco, Spokane, or Vancouver. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties assigned to this position include (but are not limited to): Serve as a resource to regional staff with occasional travel to support regional campus operations in Arlington, Pasco, Spokane, and Vancouver. Coordinate with contract instructors to ensure all training schedules, staffing, materials, and equipment are available and ready for training use. Oversee equipment used for instruction to ensure it is properly cleaned, stored and replaced as needed. Participates in course briefings and debriefings and conducts them in the absence of the primary trainer.Provides and/or assists with instruction and delivers written and practical exercises.Tutors and counsel academy students.Coordinates and trains mock scenario actors. Also serves as an actor as needed.Prepares scenario testing equipment and supplies and sets up staging areas. Set and establish the VirTra online platform and ensure all simulation weapons and projectors are functioning and ready for use. Brief and debrief with students regarding the scenarios and their responses during virtual training. Create and maintain instructor files and contact information. Schedules instructors, modifies schedules as needed and documents instructor hours for reimbursementCoordinates food and lodging vendors for recruits.Coordinates graduation preparation with TAC Officers and vendors. Receive and process recruit injury/illness forms as well as procurement requests.
