Nature of Work
Under general supervision, at the full-performance level, this employee will perform direct patient care within the public health clinic. Works independently with other health professionals and staff. Possess ability to communicate with patients. Have general knowledge of both physical and psychosocial conditions and a variety of health disorders. Must have the ability to work alone and with other staff, document clear and complete patient notes, continue education, attend training and seminars to meet requirements and certifications. Fulfill related work as assigned and required as a Public Health Nurse. This employee will report to the Administrator and the Physician/Director of the Logan County Health Department.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Successful completion of an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program; plus one year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.
OR
Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited four year college year or university.
Special Requirement: Current West Virginia license or temporary permit to practice as a registered professional nurse.
