Parks/Blackwater Falls State Park/Tucker County The Park Aide is part of a devoted team of lead employees that serve the public through customer service and maintenance of the facilities and grounds at Blackwater Falls. This team member is under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Blackwater Falls State Park consists of cabins, campsites, picnic areas, hiking trails, a gift shop headquarters, lodge, restaurant, Sled Run, Nature Center, swimming pool and spa, and support buildings. Performs tasks at various workstations while serving visitors. Performs maintenance and repair duties indoors and outdoors that include all aspects of building and grounds upkeep. This employee provides excellent hospitality to all visitors through interpretation and notification of park rules, guest reservations and registration, fee collections, staff training, and resolving guest issues. Maintains and cleans public facilities and grounds to a high standard of cleanliness. Stocks wood at cabins, and snow removal. Desirable knowledge and skills include verbal and written communication skills; office and sales equipment knowledge; knowledge of building and grounds repairs; ability to organize and plan efficient completion of tasks; and the ability to operate chainsaws, mowing equipment, a dump truck, and other motorized equipment. This position is regularly scheduled to work evening shifts which include weekends and holidays, but also subject to availability for night and day shifts. Must have a valid driver’s license or be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in West Virginia. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.
