The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill an Inventory Control Coordinator Advanced position at the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility (Boscobel, WI, Grant County).

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Financial Program Supervisor (FPS), this position is responsible for coordinating numerous complex aspects of daily operations of the Institution warehouse (including food storage) and Canteen. Duties of the position include researching requests for new products, developing specifications and requesting bids, utilizing the internet to research and source best priced options, creating purchase orders to maintain warehouse inventory levels, maintaining the computerized inventory management system, and monitoring ordering patterns and reviewing justification for significant increases in supply requests. The ICC-Advanced is also responsible for removing surplus items and posting them online. This position independently performs a variety of complex activities within a unique work environment, comparable to a large and diversified warehouse distribution facility.

In addition to performing warehouse operations, the ICC-Advanced oversees all aspects of the PIOC (Persons in Our Care) canteen program, including working directly with the vendor to troubleshoot product and order-fulfillment issues, adding and removing items from the general canteen menu, directing the flow of PIOC orders throughout the institution, utilizing a proprietary web-based application to submit canteen orders on behalf of select PIOC and processing refunds for missing or sub-standard items received. While performing these duties, the ICC-Advanced will also direct, train and supervise PIOC workers and unit staff for product distribution.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range (03-11) with a starting pay rate of $19.95/hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

As public safety employees, remote work is not an option for these positions.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

  • Experience utilizing computer programs for entering information into databases, running reports, creating spreadsheets, etc.
  • Experience conducting purchasing processes such as identifying potential products, obtaining best options, finding best prices for products, checking product availability, etc.
  • Experience providing customer service including tasks such as responding to inquiries and providing assistance to internal and external customers.
