This position is located in the Division of Facilities Transportation Services, Bureau of Enterprise Fleet and will be headquartered at 3400 Miller Street, Madison, WI 53704.
The State of Wisconsin's flight department is a professional team that serves a diverse customer base of state government entities, including State officials and officers. Wisconsin Enterprise Air Services has four turbine engine and 15 piston engine aircraft. Position Summary
The Aircraft Mechanic position is responsible for technical maintenance and repair work on single and multi-engine aircraft. Positions allocated to this progression of the classification are responsible for assisting with performing annual and progressive inspections, as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and performing routine maintenance on state-owned aircraft.
Salary Information
Starting salary for the Aircraft Mechanic (06-63) will be between $25.00 and $33.00 hourly. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).
Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.
Qualifications
