Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS) Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is recruiting for a Help Desk Tech Support Specialist.
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:30pm.

Position Summary
As the Help Desk Tech Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing application support services, technical support services, and assist with the support and maintenance of the SWC computer system. You will work with and learn from senior IT staff members the skills and techniques to support application software, operating systems, computer hardware, and participate on various projects. You will be expected to learn and use new and existing technologies and problem-solving techniques to meet the needs of the organization.
Salary Information
The starting salary is between $30.00 and $33.50 per hour (approximately between $62,400 and $69,600 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as an IS Comprehensive Services Professional and is in pay schedule and range 07/35.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC, or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following:
- Training or experience imaging and troubleshooting desktop PC’s and Laptops.
- Training or experience installing or supporting MS Windows 10 and Office 365
- Education, training, or experience providing IT customer support via phone, internal remote, or deskside using ticketing software to document issues and service provided.
- Education, training, or experience providing IT customer service (e.g. providing instructions, answering questions, resolving customer complaints/conflict).
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience providing IT customer support in support of a large (i.e., more than 200 users) campus environment.
- Experience managing and configuring Apple IOS devices.
- Experience installing HP Laser printers.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment such as a hospital, residential facility, treatment center, nursing home, etc.
