Introduction
The Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) is seeking a limited term Intern to support the Bureau of Infrastructure - Network and Data Center Section! Applicants with training and education in Wide Area Network and Local Area Network infrastructure ready to gain some experience are encouraged to apply!
This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but may be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Position Summary
Provide technical support for the Enterprise Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure, including hardware, software, and services.
- Install, maintain, configure, and support Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points (WAPS) for agency headquarters, remote sites, and the enterprise.
- Initiate command line configurations for Cisco operating systems.
- Coordinate and schedule equipment lifecycle replacements.
- Participate in IOS upgrades / downgrades for Cisco operating systems to meet published enterprise standards.
- Maintain monitoring tool configurations for device management.
- Document process, procedure and architecture diagrams for technologies supported by the Section.
- Research and recommend enhancements to simplify / streamline existing processes and procedures.
- Participate in project work.
Salary Information
This position is classed as a IS Enterprise Network Services Professional and is assigned to schedule-range 07-35. The hourly rate for this position is $18.00 per hour. This position is not exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).
Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.
Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote / work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit.
