The Division of Adult Institutions is currently recruiting to fill a Health Services Manager (Nursing Supervisor) position. This position is located at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Position Summary

The Nursing Supervisor - Health Services Manager (HSM) serves as the administrative and clinical leader of the Health Services Unit (HSU). The HSM is a Registered Nurse (RN) with a high degree of expertise in nursing care and health care management. The HSM works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team within the HSU, including Dental Services, Medical / Provider Services, Psychological Services and other specialties within the health care team, and provides overall administrative support and direction of the HSU. The HSM works collaboratively and jointly with the Bureau of Health Services (BHS) leadership to provide high quality health care to the population within the Institutions of the Department of Corrections (DOC) / Division of Adult Institutions (DAI). This position has considerable latitude for independent action within established DOC / DAI Institution and BHS standards, policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for the fiscal planning and administration of the HSU budget.

Salary Information

The starting pay is between $59.36 and $63.11 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule / range is 50-11. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment.

This position is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT :

Applicants must possess and maintain an active unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin or another state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience :

  • Providing direct nursing care to patients
  • Overseeing nursing practice and / or patient outcomes
  • Working in a supervisory role
