This full time permanent position will be headquartered at one of the Wisconsin DOT DTSD offices in the following cities: Madison, Wisconsin Rapids, Waukesha, Green Bay, La Crosse, Superior, Eau Claire, Rhinelander.

Position Summary


This is an advanced level program facilitator position within the Bureau of Technical Services-Real Estate with primary responsibility for the oversight of acquisition, condemnation and litigation matters.

The extremely complex and sensitive nature of most of these actions requires a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the Real Estate Program and Federal and State laws, rules and regulations. This position also serves as liaison to the Office of General Counsel for legal matters and coordinates legislative initiative efforts with the appropriate Department liaisons. It is also serves as the liaison to the Department of Justice for real estate litigation matters.

This position is responsible for providing training and guidance to region specialists and consultants in all aspects of acquisition and identifying and facilitating training for acquisition/litigation matters. It also serves a backup role to the Statewide Coordinator for the WisDOT Real Estate LPA program. This advanced level facilitator regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in the performance of such duties.

Salary Information


This position is in schedule-range (07-03) with an annual salary of $66,560 - $81,120 plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details


Independent travel is required for this position. Frequency of travel could be multiple times per month depending on need, overnight stays may be required but long term overnight stays are not typical.

WisDOT does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States. WisDOT is not an E-verify employer.

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from one of the offices listed above at least 2 days per week. All employees working a hybrid work schedule are still expected to telework from within the State of Wisconsin. This topic will be discussed more at the time of the interview.

Qualifications


Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

  • Experience with project management
  • Experience interpreting and applying appropriate real estate acquisition law and/or policies as they apply to highway improvement projects.
  • Experience with mentoring, coaching and/or training others.
