Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS), Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting for a Social Worker. This position may be filled at the Social Worker - Senior, Social Worker - Advanced, or Social Worker - Clinical level based on the selected candidate’s qualifications as well as facility needs. This position will work Monday-Friday, daytime hours.

Position Summary
As a Social Worker at WRC, you will be responsible for:
- Developing social service plans for pre-release residents.
- Providing professional social service consultations.
- Providing transfer and discharge planning and Reclassifications and Parole Board summaries.
- Co-facilitating the preparation of pre-release resident treatment plans.
In addition, Social Workers at the Advanced or Clinical level may also provide individual or group psychotherapy, under supervision or independently depending on credentials.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $31.75 and $42.38 per hour (approximately between $66,000 and $88,100 per year), depending on level and qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. The pay schedule and range for all levels is 12/63.
Job Details
All appointees will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Certification or eligible** for certification as a Social Worker, Advanced Practice Social Worker, or a Clinical Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin. Applicants must be certified or eligible for certification by the time of appointment.
- Experience working with persons with mental illness or substance use disorder.
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
** Eligible is defined as: you currently hold certification in another state and are eligible to obtain licensure in Wisconsin.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience with individual and group counseling.
- Experience working in an institutional setting such as hospital, mental health facility, jail or prison.
