Introduction


The Department of Health Services (DHS), Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting for a Financial Program Supervisor. This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:30 pm.

WRC is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS). DCTS is committed to helping all state residents live their best lives through an interconnected web of behavioral health services. Position Summary


As the Financial Program Supervisor, you will be responsible for leadership in the development, coordination, monitoring, and maintaining of fiscal controls to ensure budgeted expenditures do not exceed authorized amounts. You will assist the Director’s office with budget preparation and provide backup supervision of the Shared Service Business Office and Store/Warehouse. Additional supervision duties include:

  • Supervision of the Food Service Supervisors in food service operations
  • Supervision of Program Assistants in Resident Commissary Services
  • Supervision of the institution’s licensed barber

Salary Information


The starting pay is $34.45 to $42.00 per hour (approximately between $71,600 and $87,300 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current state employees is based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 81/03.

Job Details


All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by WRC or medical personnel approved by the facility within 30 days of the start date.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, the selected candidate will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified candidates will have all of the following:

  • Experience working in a leadership role (e.g., monitoring personnel workload, coaching, mentoring, or training other staff.).
  • Experience coordinating a project, program or initiative which requires collaboration among diverse disciplines and multiple partners.
  • Experience using software such as Microsoft Office Suite for report production, statistical data collection and assessment, spreadsheets, or financial analysis.

Well-qualified applicants will also have the following:

  • Experience working in a secured environment.
  • Formal supervisory experience (e.g., hiring, conducting performance evaluations, resolving conflict, discipline, etc.)
  • Experience or education in financial or statistical analysis, budgeting or other financial planning or accounting activities.
