The Division of Adult Institutions is filling a Teacher - Electricity position, located at Fox Lake Correctional Institution in Fox Lake, WI.
Position Summary
This position will develop and implement a program of professional educational services in Electricity in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs. They will also complete all required documentation of student assessment / progress and other reporting requirements in a timely manner, monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffing and meetings and serve as an effective interdisciplinary team member. This teacher will provide training to others and engage in specialized instruction and projects upon request. This teacher will serve as advocate for due process.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule / range 13-04 with a starting pay of $29.13 / hour - $34.03 / hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Qualifications
Special Requirement : Credentials or eligibility for credentialing by the Wisconsin Technical College System to teach Electricity / Industrial Wiring (WTCS # 31-413-1) :
Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one (1) year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five (5) years
Educational Standards :
Associate's Degree in a similar field of study
Preferred candidates have a Certificate of Apprenticeship from the Wisconsin Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards (BAS) OR a federally registered program.
Once hired, candidates will need to also meet annual Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) entailing completion of competency requirements in specific areas. Those who do not meet the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) academic requirements for completion of a relevant degree, will also need to meet annual requirements in an agreed upon plan based on a review of credentials.
