State Park is hiring a bartender! We're looking for a friendly, warm, experienced, and kind beverage professional to join the team. State Park is a neighborhood bar, an industry haunt, a biotech happy hour hang, a music venue, and a nightlife destination. We make modern cocktails, sling beers and tequila sodas, pour natural wine, and stock rare spirits. It's a fun place with a pool table, vintage vinyl dance parties, pinball, live music, and old school booth service, but we also take food and beverage service seriously, maintain a clean and orderly space, expect spirits knowledge and service experience from our bar staff. Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Provide knowledgeable, friendly and attentive, efficient, friendly, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times
- Receive instruction from multiple sources and prioritize tasks effectively
- Stocking, organizing and preparing service related items.Maintain cleanliness and organization around the bar
- Respond appropriately to any guest requests or issues by communicating effectively with the kitchen, bar co-workers, or management
- Additional service and/or operational tasks as determined by manager
- Assist teammates to anticipate all other FOH needs
- Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history
- Adhere to grooming and dress code standards
- Preparing bar items using the following techniques: batching, making syrups and cordials, straining infusions, keg cocktails, force carbonation, juicing, cutting garnish, clarification of citrus, daily cocktail specials, and menu development
- Stocking, organizing and preparing service related items
- Help facilitate the music program at State Park by moving gear, setting up our DJ booth, or otherwise assisting the music director whenever needed
- Help maintain the pool table and equipment, keeping the gear organized and in good condition. This will also occasionally include using the jack and moving the pool table about 10 feet
Skills & Requirements:
- 2 years of bartending experience at comparable bar
- Working knowledge of standard bar drinks, classic cocktails, and modern drinks
- A proactive interest in spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Ability to attend to a broad swath of guests
- Ability to recite menu knowledge
- A willingness to learn and get your hands dirty
- Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with peers and guests
- The ability to stay positive and calm under pressure; Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
- A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow; Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
- Warm, compassionate, and team-focused approach
- A basic understanding of cooking and food service

- Previous on-the-job experience in a Front of House or Back of House role; Able to work in a standing/walking position for long periods of time
- Restaurant experience in a high volume environment
Commitment:One year commitment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
