Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to serve as the Head of Strategy & Operations (HSO), Senior Managing Director for the Client Coverage Group (CCG) at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA). This critical role will support the strategic alignment, operational excellence, and help build a platform to support innovative growth across our institutional and intermediary distribution teams worldwide. The HSO will shape the future of our client coverage function by optimizing processes, fostering innovation, and ensuring seamless execution to enhance client engagement and business performance.

This is a critical leadership position requiring a strategic and collaborative operator with a proven ability to lead complex, global organizations, scaling operations, and delivering tangible results in a client-centric environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment

  • Partner with the Global Head of Client Coverage to define, execute, and optimize SSGA’s global distribution strategy to drive business growth and achieve long-term objectives
  • Develop and implement a scalable, future-ready operational framework to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and agility of the distribution function
  • Act as a thought leader and key advisor to senior leadership, influencing decision-making through data-driven insights and strategic foresight
  • Foster a high-performance culture that is collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented


Operational Excellence & Process Optimization

  • Lead the transformation of end-to-end operational workflows to ensure seamless client engagement across all client channels, including institutional and intermediary
  • Drive efficiency, automation, and standardization of processes while ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
  • Implement key performance metrics (KPIs) and a data-driven approach to monitor and improve operational effectiveness
  • Identify and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions to optimize operations, enhance scalability, and deliver a superior client experience


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Investments, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and IT to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and alignment of client engagement models
  • Champion client-centric innovation, ensuring that operational strategies and execution continuously evolve to meet the changing demands of institutional and intermediary clients
  • Lead large-scale change management initiatives, ensuring successful adoption of new operational models, technology, and business strategies


Global & Regional Leadership

  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for distribution teams, ensuring alignment with global goals while addressing regional market dynamics
  • Develop and execute market-specific strategies to improve client engagement, retention, and satisfaction across key geographies.
  • Mentor and develop a diverse, high-performing team, fostering leadership at all levels


Client-Centric Innovation & Transformation

  • Champion a “client-first” mindset, embedding it within operational strategy and daily execution
  • Leverage client feedback, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and industry insights to continuously enhance the client experience
  • Drive digital transformation efforts, streamlining client interactions through advanced data analytics, CRM platforms, and automation
  • Identify and eliminate pain points in clients’ experience with SSGA by implementing seamless, tech-enabled solutions


Job Requirements And Minimum Qualifications

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • 10 years of experience in operational leadership roles within asset management, financial services, or a related industry
  • Demonstrated success in large-scale business transformation, including process reengineering, automation, and client experience optimization
  • Strong knowledge of technology-driven operational solutions to support client engagement, sales enablement, and distribution strategy
  • Experience at another major Asset Management company strongly preferred

Salary Range

$225,000 - $337,500 Annual
