The State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) Chief Operating Officer (COO) is seeking to hire a Global Head of Business, Technology Risk and Controls, Operational Resiliency and Continuity (GHBTRC). This role will report directly to a member of the SSGA COO Leadership team with dual reporting to the CAO of the State Street Corporation who oversees all Business Risk Management for the enterprise.
The individual will play a critical role in leading the implementation of the enterprise strategy for the Global Advisors Business, overseeing the delivery and management of all business, technology and regulatory risk and controls for Global Advisors (GA) business services. Serving as the strategic partner and advisor to the Global Advisors COO and leadership team, this role will drive risk management, regulatory resilience, and business continuity initiatives across the global organization.
The GHBTRC will function as the central point of coordination for each of the business functions within GA , the individual will serve as a liaison between enterprise risk, regulatory and technology functions, including resiliency, continuity, and recovery. This role will also provide strategic management support to ensure all business functions within GA meet or exceed enterprise risk management and testing standards. In addition, the GHBTRC will be the conduit of key business, technology risk and controls, regulatory, and operational resiliency information to SSGA business functions, GA’s Leadership Team, and both the GA and Enterprise committees and governance forums.
This GHPTBS role includes strategic operational project and relationship management responsibilities, working within a product, platform, and services operating model. This role collaborates with peers on the COO’s senior leadership team, colleagues and peers across GA and the wider State Street organization. The role will manage a global functional delivery organization as the business risk management executive for GA, overseeing first-line business controls, regulatory responses, and technology risk metrics. Additionally, the role provides an opportunity to engage with key strategic partners across GA, State Street Bank and Holding Company, and the broader investment management industry. The key objectives are to define the future-state business and technology risk, regulatory, and operational resiliency framework, ensuring GA operates effectively within the broader enterprise frameworks and aligns with regulatory responses developed across the second and third lines of defense.
The leader in this role will be accountable for driving results, managing the firm wide relationships, and implementing the required changes for GA. This includes improving processes through an outcome-driven and automated audited-based approach, fostering collaboration and alignment to achieve holistic risk measurement, monitoring, and ongoing assessment as GA evolves. This role will also focus on enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the delivery of innovative investment products in the global marketplace.
As a key stakeholder in enabling the COO organization’s and GA’s ability to manage risk and resiliency, this role ensures compliance with regulatory obligations, privacy requirements, and control maturity standards, both internally and with the third-party GA contracts services. The successful candidate will be highly resourceful, self-motivated and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. They must also have expertise in global organizational management, technology, and data analytics. Additionally, the individual must demonstrate a high level of personal and professional integrity, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with senior business leaders across GA, State Street, boards of directors, and the broader investment management and regulatory industry.

Responsibilities
Management of the Business and Technology Risk Services
- Partners with COO leadership team to set strategic and operational objectives within a GA strategic framework, aligning with firm-wide risk, regulatory, operational resiliency, and continuity frameworks. Ensure the COO organization and GA excel in technology and business risk management while delivering on the firm’s resiliency, continuity and regulatory agenda
- Builds strong relationships across the COO, GA, Global Regulators, and key internal stakeholders responsible for the firms risk and regulatory management initiatives.
- Owns and is accountability for the global functional initiatives for GA.
- Partners with COO and GA senior leadership team to actively identify and implement process improvements and organizational optimization as part of the firm’s risk and regulatory transformation strategy.
- Develops and embeds a strong risk and control culture across all regions, integrating control frameworks into the technology platforms and business processes holistically across GA.
- Drives organizational, team, and individual development, enhancing productivity and collaboration while ensuring measurable outcomes within defined time frames.
- Work with the GA functional organizations to develop the required frameworks, operating model, roles, and responsibilities for effectively and consistently managing risk across the business.
- Manages and delivers the firm-wide risk and regulatory transformation program in collaboration with the GA functional organizations, defining the future-state operating model for internal and external business and technology risk, resiliency, and operational continuity management..

- A minimum of 20 years of experience in managing, leading and developing global high performing cross organizational teams focused on holistic delivery of risk management capabilities and services
- Minimum of 15 years of Institutional Asset Management and Wealth Management experience required.
- Global multi-jurisdictional regulatory experience preferred. Undergraduate Degree required.
- Advanced master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) or other professional risk management certification (e.g., FRM) preferred.
