How will you make an impact?
Based out of Memphis, TN, the HR Manager is a key member of the Leadership Team and responsible for translating our business strategy into HR strategy. Partner with sites in the East Region, based in Memphis, TN and the West Region based in Denver, CO as well as other future locations to hire, engage and develop talent across our organization.
You will lead and partner across multiple business units and functions, focusing on aligning with the HR platforms and creating a consistent and positive employee culture. You will be able to apply your unique skill sets in a variety of different areas such as learning and development, employee relations, recruiting, payroll, onboarding, compensation, and compliance.
What will you do?
SSI seeks an accomplished HR leader to bring a strategic mindset, new ideas, and the drive to implement them. Key priorities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Primary responsibility will be supporting all company locations sites with over 500 employees.
- Champion the culture with a focus on company values and promoting a diverse and inclusive work environment where employees are actively engaged and promoting SSI as a great place to work; coach leaders on their responsibility to do the same.
- Engage with senior business leaders to understand and influence the business strategy with a talent strategy that operationalizes business objectives and aligns with HR operating model. The talent strategy will include aspects such as; workforce dynamics, total rewards priorities and spending, leadership talent attraction and development, talent reviews and succession planning, change leadership, engagement survey results, and inclusion and diversity.
- Act as confidential advisor to senior business leaders on matters relating to human resources and oversees HR services applicable to individual senior level business colleagues/leaders.
- Manage the end-to-end staffing process for all hires, including establishing hiring plans for the specific departments, aligning resources, building, and managing relationships with our internal recruiting team as well as external recruiting agencies and ensuring a strong process that provides maximum return on investment to the business.
- Actively participate in recruitment campaigns; job fairs; college relations programs; general networking; etc. to ensure robust candidate pipeline.
- Provide advice, counsel, and information to the businesses to enable them to improve their ability to attract and retain strong talent and best leverage available resources.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with the legal department as needed/required.
- Utilize data and insights to make evidence-based decisions and supports business leaders in the independent use of reporting tools. Act as change agent to the business through process design and implementation.
- Evaluate company policies and practices and guides improvement efforts. Shares and leverages best practices from across the organization
- Ensure fairness and organizational consistency with our values in everything we do
- Assist direct reports in their workflow as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job supervises a team of 2-3 direct HR reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Business Management with emphasis in Human Resources or SHRM Certification or PHR Certification preferred
- A minimum of 7 years of HR experience at a leadership-level
- Fluency in English is required, conversant in Spanish helpful
- Experience leading HR across multiple sites
- Demonstrated experience learning and leading in a changing environment and to cultivate relationships across teams
- Ability to build strong relationships, sometimes remotely
- A human-centered approach and the ability to understand and empathize with the customer and employees
- Strong and clear communication skills and knows how to address individuals at all levels in a variety of functions
- The leadership to influence without authority and build collaborative relationships
- The strategic mindset to balance short-term needs with longer-term vision
- Experience using data to identify insights that drive action
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other MS Office products.
