Low Voltage Helper

State Systems Inc. of Middle TN is actively seeking to hire a full-time Low Voltage Helper to test, inspect and service fire alarms and other low voltage systems and address customer needs.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour (or more based on experience).

The Alarm Helper should be a self-motivated, customer service-oriented individual with strong communication skills and working knowledge of Fire & Life Safety systems.

What You'll Do:

• Complete fire alarm installation and/ or service projects.
• Complete other low voltage system installation and/ or service projects.
• Ensure all work is performed to NFPA 72 and company standards with quality installations, service, and inspections.
• Must be able to walk and climb ladders to safely test fire alarm systems such as smoke detectors, heat detectors and pull stations as needed.
• Complete fire alarm installation/ programming projects as efficiently as possible and communicate issues to the fire alarm projects admin team in a timely manner.
• Work within a team of alarm technicians and professionals to collaborate, problem solve, and learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently when necessary to self-manage and complete jobs within the allotted time.
• Complete jobs and daily tasks using company software.
• Work in compliance with the company safety policies and procedures to always ensure safety of self and others.
• Work with the managers, supervisors, and office staff to ensure a seamless process from scheduling to billing.
• Strong communication and accurate report completion are a must.

Required Skills:

• This job requires a background check.
• Excellent communication skills with both clients and departmental employees (this is an absolute must).
• Self-starter with desire to excel.
• Motivated to complete daily tasks.
• Learn to give the client what they need to ensure their system(s) are performing to their peak potential.
• Become trained on mobile devices to complete the job (PDA/Handheld scanner).
• Valid driver's license.
• Low Voltage License (Preferred).
• Learn to trouble shoot issues in the field and present potential resolutions to supervisor(s).
• Must be dependable.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Must be able to push and pull items greater than 40 pounds, as needed.
• Ability to safely use and climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 - 24 feet.
• Ability to work comfortably at a height greater than 12 - 24 feet.
• Constant walking, standing, carrying/ handling objects, climbing ladders and eye/hand/foot coordination.

This position offers a wage based on experience and certifications.

The typical work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
