About the Job
This is a remote technical support role, where you will provide assistance to NYSIF staff and external customers via the Service Desk. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and be able to troubleshoot technical issues related to personal computing hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote technical support via the Service Desk for NYSIF staff and external customers.
- Address service requests and provide assistance to end users as it relates to NYSIF personal computing, both hardware and software.
- Image computers.
- Provide new employee onboarding support.
- Configure mobile devices.
- Support all ITS Teams with hardware deployments, installations and system maintenance.
- Create and maintain user and instructional documentation.
- Assist with the ITS hardware asset hardware inventory, including the maintenance of hardware inventory system data, participation in the annual Physical Inventory and hardware disposals.
Requirements:
- Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State.
- Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program) or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program.
- Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent.
- Must be able to work at least part-time summer (10-15 hours per week, with the opportunity to work fall and spring depending on availability); full-time summer hours preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred Major(s): Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Data Science, Project Management, or Business Analyst
