Job Function:
The Robotics Field Application Engineer is responsible for providing expert support to customers by collaborating with division management, sales, end users, and system integrators. This role involves on-site programming, cycle optimization, and training across North America, with up to 75% travel required. The engineer will propose robotic solutions using various technologies, facilitate training sessions, and maintain detailed project reports within the CRM system. The position requires strong communication abilities, technical writing skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Robotics Service Manager – North America
Responsibilities and Objectives:
- Work directly with the division management, sales, end users, and system integrators to provide expert support. This may be in the form of programming support, cycle optimization or training.
- Travel onsite to customer locations to perform programming services across North America.
- Propose concept and solution adapted to our robot range with different technologies (vision, conveyor tracking, safety…)
- Facilitate training to our customers and partners.
- Report daily in our CRM system to track each projects progress. A technical report will be written at the end of each service detailing the actions while onsite.
- Communicate frequently with customers to ensure quality service is being applied
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation with manager(s), co-workers, customers and/or vendors
- Reacts quickly and adapts to changes in priorities, circumstances and direction
- Works effectively with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering and/or equivalent years of experience in automation/robotics
- Bilingual preferred: English Spanish, French or German
- Valid Driver’s License and Current Passport (role required up to 75% Domestic and International Travel)
- Programming and Controls Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in structure text programming
- Understanding and knowledge of best practices for controls architecture of an automation cell.
- Fieldbus knowledge and implementation
- C / Java etc.…
- Electrical knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and advise the customer on best practices
- On occasion design and implement electrical systems for testing or demonstration
- Mechanical Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to understand mechanical processes in order to troubleshoot robotics application
- Fabrication utilizing basic hand tools along with machine shop tools
- Understanding of best practices when designing and implementing EOAT
Physical Requirements:
- Periods sitting at a desk or standing and working on a computer
- Periods traveling in automobiles, planes
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objects
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
- Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate equipment
Work schedule:
- Willingness to travel as required both domestically and internationally (up to 75%)
- This position will report to the Duncan, SC office.
