Staunton City Schools is seeking an innovative leader who will provide leadership in identifying, assessing, and managing technology needs for the school system. Involvement is paramount in developing strategic plans that integrate technology to support educational goals, leading the infusion of innovative technologies, and ensuring the educational technology infrastructure is robust and effective.

The selected candidate must possess a blend of technical expertise and educational insight. Beyond managing IT infrastructure, an understanding of curriculum and instruction to support teachers and students will be beneficial. Key skills include forming personal relationships, collaborating with various stakeholders, and being part of the executive leadership team to drive the district’s vision forward. Responsibilities include supervising technical staff, coordinating technologies with administrative departments, maintaining network infrastructure, and preparing necessary records and reports. 

Additionally, the position manages the operation of the Staunton City Public Schools wide-area network and each location’s LAN. Responsibilities includes hands-on work designing, managing and overseeing staff installing, testing and performing maintenance on division servers in each setting, local, hybrid VMWare and cloud-based architecture. The scope of additional network equipment that must be maintained and expanded as the division grows; Internet access, multiple filtering capabilities, Cisco switching infrastructure, shared router with Staunton City, Meraki wireless access points, badge access control, telephony, video security systems, Google Workspace environment for the entire division, educational applications and the associated databases and the communication amongst them with the authoritative control.

Bachelor’s degree in technology, instructional technology or similar field or equivalent amount of training and experience and at least 3-5 years of experience managing and/or directing an IT operation required. The ideal candidate will also have considerable experience with data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications and networking. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess regulatory knowledge, and exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Extensive experience with the Google Admin console to support students with 1:1 Chromebooks is preferred.

Grade:                2633 (12-month/260 days)

Hiring Range:      $100,000 to $130,000 DOE/DOQ

Start Date:          On or around mid to late June 2025 or negotiable

Reports To:         Division Superintendent
