Floater/Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for children. This role is essential in fostering the social, emotional, and cognitive development of students while promoting a love for learning. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with lead teachers to implement lesson plans and support classroom activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote childhood development.
• Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and orderly environment conducive to learning.
• Engage with children during activities, encouraging participation and fostering their interests.
• Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist in the observation and documentation of children's progress and behavior.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons for children with special needs or autism, ensuring inclusivity in the classroom.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom materials and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in daycare or childcare settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles is essential.
• Familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus.
• Experience in special education or working with children on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in classroom management to create a structured environment for learning.
• Basic understanding of math concepts suitable for young learners.
• A passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering their growth and development.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
