Job Title: Education Specialist
Location: High Point, NC
Start Date: June 16th with 25 Hours of On-Boarding Training Prior to Start Date with Potential Early Start Based on Candidate
Salary: $45,000-$55,000 per year
Work Hours: Typically M-F 9-5, but some nights and weekends are required
Reports To: Director of Education
Company Background: Stay Plugged In is the premier esports recruiting platform for college scholarships, providing opportunities for students to compete in front of a network of hundreds of college esports programs with the potential to earn scholarships. Stay is a set of educational and workforce development services that tie gaming to student advancement. We use gaming as a means to build a community of students and a campus culture, for fun and competition, to explore career opportunities and participate in STEAM learning projects and to provide assistance in finding the right “next step” in life, and their career, upon graduation from high school.
Primary Role:
An Education Specialist is expected to serve their local community and beyond in a variety of ways, including teaching in-person at local schools, virtually to regions outside the High Point area, assisting in running Stay Plugged In industry day and esports events, and occasionally advising in the planning of future curriculum.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in teaching, education, or working with K-12 students is required
- Experience in gaming or the gaming/esports industry is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in coding, cybersecurity, engineering, game design, or other STEM related fields is preferred but not required
Job Requirements
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for teaching of Stay EDU projects, in both in-person and virtual environments, with emphasis on game-based, engagement activities and assisting with planning for long-term scalability.
- Continues ongoing education within both the teaching and game experiences
- Prepares planning documents and socializes within organization for input from key stakeholders
- Assists with education seminars and training to broaden capabilities among internal staff and external stakeholders where necessary
- Develops curriculum and timelines regarding new academic projects
- Advises Director of Education & executive management on future development requirements
- Knows and understands NC State Standard Course of Study to assist with curriculum integration
- Ability to differentiate instruction according to student's needs
- Participates in Working Groups, as requested
